About Manzano Mountain Retreat

The Dudley, Gemmer, and Crabtree families bring backgrounds in hospitality, culinary arts, real estate, property management, healthcare, law enforcement, public service, event planning, business management, lumber distribution, and national laboratory operations. Although our paths were different, we shared a common vision—to create a place where people could come together, reconnect, and experience the natural beauty of New Mexico.

That vision took root in 2022 when we purchased the original 129-acre Manzano Mountain Retreat and the additional 40-acre Pippen property.  For more than 20 years, the property's previous owner had transformed a historic apple orchard into a multi-use training facility and event venue. Since then, the retreat has grown to approximately 170 acres, and our family has continued building upon the foundation established before us.

Today, Manzano Mountain Retreat welcomes guests for weddings, corporate and nonprofit retreats, family reunions, youth camps, festivals, celebrations, and peaceful mountain getaways. The property also welcomes hospitality guests staying overnight, for the weekend, or for a vacation. Our property offers a distinctive combination of lodging, gathering spaces, farm animals, orchards, trails, mountain scenery, outdoor recreation, and wide-open New Mexico skies.

Our vision is to preserve the character and natural beauty of this special place while thoughtfully developing it into one of New Mexico’s most welcoming destinations. Whether you are exchanging vows, gathering your family, strengthening your team, attending our annual Apple or Christmas Festivals, or simply escaping to the mountains, we want you to feel at home here.
